Soccer Fun with JUMP in the Summer Sun

The players assembled and the jerseys were issued at De La Salle College's Oaklands stadium last Sunday, as The Jewish Urban Meeting Place (JUMP)'s first annual charity soccer tournament got underway. Eight teams were comprised of a minimum of six young to youngish professional Jews, identified by their team colours: brown, gray, green blue, yellow and red ...um...on second thought, make that 'Paprika', as it was identified by the colour swatch of the jersey's correct shade.

Kickoff for game one got underway bright and early before 10 a.m. and teams yellow and gray quickly were identified as the teams to beat.

Coming off of a 3-1 victory against team yellow, who had a full second line of players to sub throughout the 25 minute game, the tournament came to a close with a re-match between Team 'Paprika' and Team Gray
.

Team Gray had emerged victorious in the round robin game against 'Paprika' with a 4-0 win. Though they looked for retribution from the morning's loss giving it all they had left, Gray once again bested the would be champions 5-0.
