Pizza, sushi and a proposal In The Sukkah

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s Community Connect holiday task force brought together three of Toronto's leading young professional groups this week to host an event titled “…In The Sukkah” at Shaarei Tefillah Congregation. The House, Hillel of Greater Toronto and the Jewish Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) offered sushi, pizza and hookah “in the hut” at a networking event that featured an unexpected surprise: an attendee proposing on one knee to his longtime girlfriend (and now fiancé).

Performing the mitzvah of celebrating and rejoicing in the sukkah with family and friends maximized the enjoyment of last night's event.

In this video excerpt, Rabbi Joel Wardinger of JUMP talks to those assembled about the joy this holiday season – and performing mitzvot year round – can bring.
