The Jewish World Cup...North and South

With the World Cup quarter finals starting on Friday, European football, better known to the rest of us as soccer, is spawning Jewish Cup type competitions both North and South of the Canadian border.

On June 27th in New York City, the Jewish World Cup brought together fans and players of the Jewish Community from every burrough and suburb of "The Big Apple". Adam Sokoloff of JTA.org reported that Team Israel took the cup in a 5-2 victory against Team Italy.

For those not yet aware, JUMP the Jewish Urban Meeting Place will be holding their own version of the FIFA World Cup July 25th in a soccer tournament of their own.

A few spaces still remain for a few players in order to assemble the 8 teams. In depth details of the tournament can be found here.
