Oscar-stein!

So the Academy Awards have come and gone for another year. This time around, we get a bevy of Jewish artists who either won or had a brush with Oscar fame.

To recap:

- Ethan and Joel Cohen win Best Picture for No Country For Old Men
- Best Foreign Film goes to The Counterfeiters. The story of Jewish counterfeiters being put to use by Nazis during the Holocaust
- Daniel Day Lewis wins Best Actor for his role in There Will Be Blood
- Jason Reitman comes close-but-no-cigar for his direction on Juno
- Sidney Pollack also just misses out as producer on Michael Clayton
- Ditto for Julian Schnabel as director on The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

And of course there's Canada's own Josh Raskin, who directed a strong contender for animated short film called I Met the Walrus, an illustrated re-telling of an obscure audio interview with John Lennon in Toronto acquired by Jerry Levitan, a 14-year-old (at the time) aspiring journalist.

Way to represent!
