She's not a preteen anymore, but Paula Abdul is preparing for her bat mitzvah at the Western Wall when she visits Israel this week.
The 51-year-old star – who rose to fame in the '80s for her music, but more recently she's been known as an American Idol and X Factor judge – is fulfilling what she has called a life-long dream for a holiday in Israel.
The Israeli tourism ministry invited her to visit back in 2006, to which Abdul responded, "I will come; you have helped me make a dream come true." It's finally happening this week.
According to The Times of Israel, Abdul's first trip to the Holy Land will also involve visits to Tel Aviv and the Galilee, and she'll learn about the historical and religious aspects of the country, as well as its arts and culture. She's also expected to meet with President Shimon Peres.
