Israeli photographer Tamir Orbaum has created a very cool website called Tamir 360 Photography. It features an interactive gallery consisting of 360-degree panoramic views of famous sites all around Jerusalem (similar to Google Street View).He has photographed places such as the Zion Gate, the Western Wall, Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the memorial for fallen soldiers near the beautiful Eliyahu Ha’navi Synagogue.
This project is exceedingly special because you’re able to have a 360-degree view of most places in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem. You get to see what the surroundings of someone living in the city are truly like. You see the traffic passing by and people walking around, but the whole virtual tour is focused on what the city has to offer.
The tour starts off on the Mount of Olives. It’s a beautiful place and has been used as a Jewish cemetery for more than 3,000 years. The tour moves from there all around the holy city of Jerusalem.
This is a great way to discover Jerusalem in all its beauty without leaving the comfort of your own home.
