Another amazing Jewish rapper

Mac Miller, a Philadelphia native who also happens to be Jewish, has had a lot of success in the hip-hop and rap scene over the last few years.

Being raised Jewish seems to have been a big influence on Miller’s life. He had a bar mitzvah and also says he celebrates the High Holidays with his family.

The 20-year-old has a chai tattoo on his arm and says that even though some people don’t agree with him getting tattoos and have warned him that he won’t be able to be buried in a Jewish cemetery (which is a myth, by the way), he listens to his heart.

His album Blue Slide Park debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2011, making him the first indie artist in 16 years to have his first album hit No. 1 on the charts. Also, his single Donald Trump was recognized by the Donald himself in a tweet stating @macmiller “Donald Trump the Song gets 16M hits on YouTube. Who wouldn’t be flattered?”

Miller’s second full-length album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, is set to be released in 2013. Let’s hope his success continues!
