Taking ulpan to the streets

Hebrew teacher Guy Sharett takes his lessons to the streets of Tel Aviv. For newcomers to Israel who want to learn the language, sometimes the classroom can be a confining, and, well let's just admit it - a boring- way to learn Hebrew.

Sharett saves his students from boredom by teaching them Hebrew from the graffiti and street art that covers the walls of Tel Aviv.  This is not only a chance for a grammar lesson, but also gives some insight into the social and political views of Israelis that come out in the street art.

Check out this video from Haaretz to see Sharett touring through Tel Aviv.
