Super-hot Israeli to play Supe's mom

Ayelet Zurer

It's a bird. It's a plane! No, it's an Israeli actress, Ayelet Zurer, about to portray Superman's imah, Lara Lor-Van, in the upcoming re-reboot of the Superman film franchise. From our friends at JTA:

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer will portray Superman's Kryptonian mother in the Superman movie sequel.

Zurer reportedly will replace Julia Ormond, who left the film for unknown reasons, in the role of Lara Lor-Van. Zurer has starred in "Angels & Demons" and "Munich."

Russell Crowe is portraying Superman's Kryptonian father, Jor-El. Superman is being played by the British actor Henry Cavill.

Production on the film, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2013, has begun.

Kol hakavod. Hopefully, this will be a more kick-ass version of Supes than we saw last time. Boy was that ever slow, in my humble opinion. Although, Kevin Spacey can play Lex Luthor anytime, in my book.
