Marvel's super team and the world of sports

In an announcement made earlier this week, the comic book summer blockbuster powerhouse Marvel Entertainment LLC, entered into a partnership with the National Football League (NFL). The Dallas Cowboys will be the first team to offer apparel featuring such beloved heroes as Spiderman and Captain America on t-shirts and caps.

In a statement made to the Associated Press, Jerry Jones Jr. the Cowboy's sales and marketing officer said, "We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to energize our fans, and what better way than to combine our brand with some of the all-time great Super Heroes that everyone has grown up with."

This is not Marvel's first agreement made with some of America's most well known professional sports teams. Earlier this year the same arrangement was made with the LA Lakers, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. The Marvel/NFL apparel will be available in stores around the country starting July 13th.

Both Spiderman and Captain America were created by legendary American Jewish comic book artists Stan Lee and Joe Simon & Jack Kirby respectively.
