Canada's first Military Jewish Wedding since WWII

So it happened in Mexico this past April. It's still newsworthy, eh?

On April 4, 2011 Maj. Alain Cohen, wed Alexis Haligua-Cohen. Maj. Cohen, seen in full white military dress uniform below, was aided by Canadian Forces Chaplain and Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Lazer Danzinger (below in red) in drinking the wine of benediction. Rabbi Lazinger is the only full-time Jewish chaplain in the Canadian Forces.

The wedding ceremony featured all the traditions of a military wedding while faithfully upholding all of the requirements of Jewish law, according to Chabad.org (who also generously provided Heebonics with the picture).

The wedding took place in the Cohens' favourite vacation spot of Merida, Mexico.

Mazal Tov to Alexis and Alain! And... atten--TION!
