UJA's Walk with Israel set to be huge success

This year, the 44th annual UJA Walk With Israel is poised to be the biggest walk yet.

The May 29 8km Walk is expected to bring in a crowd of over 12 000 people, including City Councilors and MP's.

Prior to the 10:00 a.m. start of the Walk, participants are invited to the kick-off party, taking place at 9:45, featuring a live performance by Shawn Desman, Juno winner for Best R&B/Soul album. The concert, presented by Mandell Entertainment Group and Camp Timberlane will be at Coronation Park, which is where the Walk will begin.

Following the start of the Walk, participants will make their way along the downtown core and the waterfront, stopping at four rest stops along the way. Each rest stop will have unique entertainment, giveaways, and plenty of food.

At 12:30, following the completion of the Walk, participants can partake in the Renee and Irwin Festival at Ontario Place. The festival will include camel rides, a petting zoo, stage shows, a kosher BBQ and prizes.

The 44th annual Walk With Israel is one of the world’s largest Israel solidarity events, and raises funds for educational and social services in Sderot, Eilat and Bat Yam. Besides helping raise funds for Israel, the Walk is a fun event that is perfect for the whole family.
