The final installment of the hugely popular Batman trilogy has added Jewish talent to the star-studded cast. The newest star to sign on to The Dark Knight Rises is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played Arthur in Inception. Levitt, who is also known for playing a goofy alien on the TV sit-com Third Rock from the Sun will be adding some Jewish flavour to the cast that includes Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy.
But who is it that Levitt will be playing?
Yet to be confirmed, it is speculated that Levitt will be playing the role of Alberto Falcone, son of the mobster Carmine Falcone, who was killed off in Batman Begins.
According to the comic, Alberto, the favourite of the family, was ostracized by Carmine who did not want his son to live the crooked life he was living. He instead sent Alberto to Harvard and Oxford to receive an education.
Also known as “The Holiday Killer,” Alberto returns from school to wreak havoc on Gotham City, and to prove his family wrong.
The Dark Knight is set to begin production in spring, and will be released next summer.
What do you think? Will Joseph Gordon-Levitt make a good villain?
