It goes without saying that much of the world's attention is focusing now on the massive earthquake that rattled Haiti January 12th. As soon as they could clear security checks at their respective airports, the major networks sent their top reporters and nightly news anchors down to broadcast live from the devastated country.
The Jewish organizations here at home have started up the campaigns to help rebuild Haiti's infrastructure and begin mending the broken lives of its people, many of whom have been trapped under crumbled rooftops. Chief amongst them is Ve’ahavta: the Canadian Jewish Humanitarian and Relief Committee. They have created the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund to support the relief efforts of the aid agencies.
