Sabra Price is Right

Robert Smigel, one of the co-writers on the about-to-be released Adam Sandler flic You Don't Mess With the Zohan, did some of his finest comedic writing for Saturday Night Live.

Back in the early 1990s, he was already lampooning Israeli culture with skits on the show. Here's one called "Sabra Price Is Right". The title is self-explanatory. The skit is a little over-the-top and somewhat long, but just look at all the talent they had. Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock and Chris Farley among others.

So, in honour of the eminent release of Zohan, here's a look at a comedic scene from yesteryear.

And, if you're curious to get into the mind of the man who created this gem, there's a great interview with Smigel over at The Onion this week. Read it here.

Technology truly is an inescapable aspect of our daily lives, and I am fairly confident when I say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further develops, the possibility of transferring our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about all the time.
