JUMP to Celebrate One Year

The Jewish Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) which officially opened its doors in October, 2007 is amazed to find itself celebrating its One Year Anniversary albeit a bit delayed Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at Steam Whistle Brewing. The event’s proceeds will go towards subsidizing the non-profit organization’s future programming. JUMP’s target will likely be hit to host 500 young professionals from across the GTA, as one week prior to the event; ticket sales already totaled 300 confirmed attendees.

JUMP’s mission and goal, is to nourish the Jewish spirit of its members, to encourage participation and strengthen the bond between the Jewish people through experience and knowledge. One element of the event is intended to inspire and instill the value of community involvement and the giving of Tzedakah, not only in monetary amounts rather by hosting a different kind of silent auction during the night. In addition to the DJ and live entertainment, guests have the opportunity to bid for items with volunteer hours, hours that will be committed to food banks, respite homes, and various other programs around the city for those less fortunate.
Steam Whistle Brewing is located at The Roundhouse 255 Bremner Blvd., across from the CN tower. Tickets are $65 with an Urban Chic dress code in affect. (Advance purchase only)

Operating as a social network and community hub with an open and welcoming atmosphere for young professionals, JUMP is located in the Thornhill Village. It is designed as a centre where one can relax, schmooze and become involved in a variety of different innovative and exciting opportunities.
